Hi guys,
1997 fxsts, softail springer.
The rear brake light was working intermittently. Tail light would work but not the brake light. I wiggled the wires under the fender and something was obviously loose. After removing the assembly, the yellow wire in the picture was no longer connected to anything. I have no idea where it's supposed to go...my electrical skills are near zero!
I turned the ignition on and touched the bare wire to the socket case and it flickered. I stripped a little more from the wire to get a better connection but now there's nothing. No tail light and no brake light.
Does this look repairable or should I start shopping for a replacement?

EDIT: when compressing the brake lever and touching the yellow wire to the socket casing the brake light comes on. Still no running light...
