So I went to line a new custom, coffin style tank from TC bros with Kreem liner. I am looking inside it now with a flashlight, and from what i can tell, I didnt do a great job. Looks like there are some potential rust specs, and the kreem is pretty uneven inside.
(Its impossible for me to get a good pic with a camera)
I have petcock with a mesh protector over the straw. Do we think this will protect me from any of the liner potentially dislodging over time and getting pulled in? or am I going to need to somehow strip the whole darn thing?
Just add more kreem and cover the rust.. I've used a different tank sealer and even after the phosphoric acid wash is done if some runs is remaining, add more sealer.. Now if you failed to completely remove whatever tank prep you did, you're screwed. Maybe take the tank to a radiator repair shop and see what they can do..
As kids, our local gas station guy would pay us in cokes for cleaning old rusted gas cans. He would put pea gravel in the cans and we would roll and shake the cans for awhile until no more rust came out. Time intensive, or, pay some kid in cokes.
