‘24 + Rider Backrest Mod
You mount the fender bracket in the most forward position, otherwise, the passenger seat front brackets will not reach the mounting studs. Then make one bend on the backrest posts just above the fender bracket, bending it towards the rear and the other bend, forward, right at the top of the seat. Kind of Z shaped.
The post are hardened so get the torch out and remove the pad from the seat post to keep from burning your pad material.
I took an oscillating cutter and notched the seat base in between the mounting holes to clear the fender bracket. No need to cut the seat cover material as it stretches right over and around the bracket.
Took me about an hour and a half to get it figured out and modified but it looks factory when all said and done.
I had to redo the bottom bends to get it exactly where I wanted the backrest. That’s why you see the burnt paint on the post. I had to repaint it once I was happy with it.
