sold back in the 60's. they were an automotive adaptation of an aircraft plug and were actually pretty good, i ran a set over 200k miles before they started having issues and that was with 3 cars.
then there are surface gap plugs. indexing does not work on all chambers.
Plug wires are more of a cosmetic accessory than anything else, that being said never use the cheapest POS wires either, or running them till they crack. Ive reached down to switch my reserve before with bad wires that reached out and grabbed me. When I say I jumped several feet off the bike while riding down the highway I mean it. Didnt need an energy drink the rest of the trip, my heart was racing so fast.
