Default Paint it or not??????

I've got a Springer "Badboy" with factory paint (Black). Ive been thinking about adding some ghost flames orairbrushing to it. The badboy is known for its blacked out feature and there were not many produced. Should I mess with the paint??

Two options:
1) Hell yeah-- paint it like it's yours
2) Thinking about future sell- buy aftermarket tank/fenderand paint it. Save original sheetemetal to put back on if you are going to sell it

Your choice. Good luck.

Personally, I think airbrushed artwork over top factory paint is cheap and cheesy. I'd get a set of tins and have them all painted and save the factory paint for later down the road. Personally, I like the look of a nicely maintained factory paint job on an older bike.

I painted ghost flames over the top of my last ride. Black bike with HOK blue flames with silver edges. I got more compliments on the paint that I could ever imagine, and it also made it mine!

Another option is to take off your existing set and pick up a whole new set off of Ebay or wherever. If you ever want to return it to stock, you can.

Or like I did, buy a set off of Ebay and then sell yours if you don't want it. Your new paint job will end up costing nothing.

Oh, and if you ever get bored of that Springer frontend, you be sure to let me know.
