It's like wiping your bike down with sandpaper.

Take it out back and wash her down. If you feel guilty, skip a shower for a week or two...but dont raise your arms.

The only time I ever put water on the bike is when you run into those pesky love bugs. Any other time I use a cleaner and polisher

Mainly it takes little longer but I don't have to worry about water spots - water causing problems - etc.

I've used Honda spray and polish.........from the local Honda Dealer. If the bike is extremely dirty.....I'll use the water.

I use Harley's bug remover and HarleyGloss for light cleaning.
Smells nice too!

And Kozax's Dry Wash.

I bought a product at wal-mart by Turtle Wax that is a foam spray comes in a blue can. No water needed. Great for the painted parts. Spray it on, it foams up, wipe of with a soft cloth. Leaves a nice shine. Took all of 5 minutes.
