Well, they called and said everything is in working order. I asked them what exactly they did to the master cylinder. They actually rebuilt the whole thing. I am impressed. He said, "And of couse that is at no charge to you"!!!
Sound's like they took care of you but actually they should since it's under warranty, so all's well that end's well.[sm=smiley17.gif]
My question is did you overfill the mastercylinder? If so, it will push the excess fluid out from under the lid (the pressure has to go somewhere). Since you say you didnt have a change in brake pressure I would find it hard to beleive that you had a leak that was other than overfill. Any leak in a hydraulic system will cause you to loose pressure, and if its an internal leak it wont build pressure, but wont leak either. Im glad you got good results from your dealer, but to me it sounds like just a way to build good PR without actually doing anything, cause nothing probably needed to be done, but its all about making the customer happy, and that means telling you what you want to hear.
The key to "Teflon" tape is to put it on the fitting leaving the first couple of threads bare so it can't go into whatever system you are using it on. Also make sure to wrap it so it tightens the wrap as you tighten the fitting. If you do this you will never get the tape in the system.[sm=smiley2.gif]

I wouldn't be able to say a whole lot about the loosing pressure since I didn't have the opportunity to ride it much. I did make sure it wasn't too full though - although, that doesn't mean I would rule it out. They did put down the rebuild and parts they used on the service order that they printed out for my records and thiers - so dunno??? I thought it was just a faulty seal.
