I have an '05 Dyna and I have installed several goodies. One being a chrome master cylinder on the bars. Well, the thing has leaked since I first put it on and I took the bike in recently about another issue. I asked them to check the MC seal b/c it was leaking They said..."we can't find anything wrong with the MC." Imagine that. I took it back in Friday 11th b/c it is still leaking and they finally got to it today. They said, we rebuilt your MC. Yea, we put a new seal in there. Of course my response was "OK"??? I can't believe they call replacing a seal a freakin' rebuild. It makes me think they are going to want $$$ for fixing a brand new chrome piece that has a 1 yr warr. already. I guess you could apply that term loosley, but does that not sound odd to you guys?
Did you try to reseal with teflon pipe dope yourself? Are you losing brakes?
Yes, it leaked b/w the lid and main body. I would rather them replace the seal since I just bought it. No, I didn't lose the brakes, but there hasn't been much opportunity for me to ride.
I guess my question is, did they charge you anything?
Mac
Stay tuned...I should find out tomorrow. But I haven't filled out the little survey that they want you to say "extremely satisfied" for every category either. So, it may not be an issue.
Hopefully they won't charge you, you said it was under warranty, so I think you have an arguement. Let's hope we're worried about nothing. Be sure to let us know tomorrow what the outcome is.
Well, they called and said everything is in working order. I asked them what exactly they did to the master cylinder. They actually rebuilt the whole thing. I am impressed. He said, "And of couse that is at no charge to you"!!!
