Default New Chaps- Black Die

Bought a very cheap pair of leather chaps yesterday ($50 canadian). They are actually quite well made and reasonably thick and flexible but the black die used on the exterior of the split hide comes off on my hands and will likely end up on my jeans etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove this easily? I was going to try using Dubbin or Mink oil on a cloth and just rubbing it a lot but before that thought I would try the forum for any thoughts or experience.

Gets ready for some rubbing..if that be the case. That dye shouldn't come off anymore once you treat it with the mink oil, but rub good.
