Ok I am looking at a changing my 88 FLHT fule tank to a 89 or newer tank. I want to change the tank as i have updated the bike with alot of newer parts as the older parts were getting a bit raggedy.
So i was looking for a new tank and a nice blank centre dash but every thing i have looked at starts at 89.
 \\;\\\\\\;
My tank has the big cheese wedge tank dash built into the tank but the newer models have the two peice tanks (1)tank (2)Dash.
 \\;\\\\\\;
before i go out and buy a tank does any one know why the 89 - 96 tank will not fit on the 88 version?
 \\;\\\\\\;
If it will not fit as standard. is there much modification to the tanks / seat /frame ?
 \\;\\\\\\;
thanks
well i have looked everywhere in the states and here in europe. I just cant anyone who can tell me what the differeance in the tank fittings are between the 84 - 88 flht gas tank and the 89 - 96 flht. I guess i will gust buy one and see if it will fit the bike.
