I have the Clymer and the HD Service manuals and an HD Parts book. The Clymer stays in the cabinet 90% of the time. Is is easier to read the HD manual. The HD manual does assume you know some basic things when working on your bike. Those "basic things" can be found on this forum or one of many websites that thoroughly explain them. Don't be afraid to ask questions on here. I was a novice on HD 5 yrs ago and once I found this forum in 06, I learned so much about my bike.

Remember all of us were a novice when we started and many are very willing to help out.

By the way! Nice lookin bike you got there.

One more thing! I use a Mity vac pump to bleed my brakes and it is also useful for draining the tank to change my filter because the petcock is vacuum operated.

I do
You can have air in the lines no matter what color the fluid is.

oh...heh...yeah...I understand that, but...

again...total novice here, but bleeding brakes seems rather simple.

1)attach hose
2)depress lever
3)open valve
4)close valve
5)repeat 2 and 3 until no air bubbles come out

right?

Stupid q, but do you do this with the MC cover off? I did it with it on. Manual doesn't specifically mention this.

go ahead and scold me if you want.
