Anyone have any luck taking a stock seat such as mine ( 07 night train ) and cutting it down to a solo. I'm implying that I'll have it done or is it just better and more cost effective to buy a new one. Any help would be nice or if you have done it yourself let me know how it worked out. As I see it. I already have a new seat for me and the wife. If they want to much to cut mine down I may try it myself. what could it hurt. HUH
I didn't want to cut down my two up seat so I ordered an Ultima solo seat for the pan to fit my bike. Took it to a guy in Lincoln City, Oregon and he re-padded it and hand tooled some nice leather and lace stitched it all together.
The total price including the new pan was under $500. He does excellent work and I have a ONE OFF seat that's easily worth twice what I paid for it.
I can try in the next few days to get his name and phone number if you want. I currently don't have it as I dealt through a indy in Lincoln City.
