Anyone have any history or comments on the ultima 120 engine? I am considering one for my project . Cravens Custom Cycles has the best prices , any comments there?

I used a 113 in a build a couple of years ago and for my money, it's a far better value than the S&S. It has 30k+ on it and runs like a top. Check Jireh Cycles for good prices and free freight.

Default Ultima

I have had one Ultima 127, currently have one 120, a Revtech 110 and an S&S 117. The Ultimas are very hard hitters in the low end. First and Second on a fresh engine are going to drive you crazy until you get them broken in. Once you get them broken in you need to detune the lower gears. What we did was reduce the idle jets to provide the least amount of fuel to keep the engine running reasonably in 1st and 2nd, then added a Thunderjet (3rd jet) that works on a vacuum so if the engine is requesting more fuel, it gets it (almost a 1/4" fuel line- when it hits hold on). The 127 broke the rear drive belt shifting from second to third. - the Ultimas are beasts.... Great engine, but if this is your first build just go in with your eyes open.
