Default Need Handle Bar Riser

Does anybody know of a handle bar riser that would work for a for a 96 XL Sportster. I'm installing a larger fuel tank and I need to raise the handle bars high enough to clear the tank and keep my turning radious. The type of clamp on there now is a block type that overlays the handle bar and has four bolts. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

Default RE: need handle bar riser

So Thrak, how much did you gain over the stock riser? On my bike it looks to be about 1 1/2 inches so I'm thinking subtract that off any riser I put on there. That would be nice if I could get 4 1/2 inches but I was thinking I didn't have enough cable and was going to try the 2 1/2 pull back riser. Guess the thing to do is fit my new tank on and loosen up the handle bars and measure everything out and determain what work so that will be my project for the day. Thanks for resonding, I came back the next day looking for this darn thread and couldn't find it so I need to get use the forum too!

Default 4 inch riser

Hey Thrak, I ordered the 4 inch pull back riser as I loosened the handle bars up and measured and thats the maximum distance I can go without messing with the cables. Now I need to decide a color for the tank and fenders and I should be back on the road in few weeks.
