Ngoti8tor, It looks like you might have a Garmin Nuvi 500 or 550 mounted on that bike in your last picture. I'm ready to buy the 550, and was wondering what is the right size of ball mount on yours? It doesn't look like the standard 1" size, it appears to be a bit smaller?
I apologize to anyone that was mislead then, I guess I should have said "ball and socket mount" instead of "ram mount".
No apology needed. Its just, I keep seeing all these peeps say ... "my ram mount is the best" ... and I'm thinking, this mount is way better then the mounts Ram sells. Ram sells a similar setup, but the handlebar mounting device is just a u bolt that goes around the handlebar ... kinda hackish if you ask me.

Thanks!!
I have a 550 and it fits perfectly on the ball for the mount. I think its about 1/2 inch diameter actually. GPS fits very secure on the ball, it never shifts positions even when I go over jarring obstructions.
