Moving floor boards

On an '05 Deluxe, is it possible to move the floor boards ahead a few inches?

i have some great 3/4" and 1" aluminum plate in my shop that i'm going to build some floorboard extenders with. not only will they do what the regular extenders will do, but they will move the footboards foreward a couple of inches. with size 14 boots you gotta have all the room you can find. there are footboards in the parts and accessories catalog and they cost 79 bucks and they are new footboards that are made for mounting foreward an inch or two. i just feel that i can machine the correct step foreward while incorporating the spacing that i like by using either the 1" or 3/4" stock.

I make the extensions that move them out to the sides and you can get the harley extended floorboard pans to move them forward. sonar_chris did a post about this a while back.
