I'm about to go ahead with my fist HD I like very much the Heritage and RK Classic.
What is the major differences between those 2 bikes. Handling?, technically? Feeling?
Unfortunatly, here in Quebec it is almost winter and I cannot try it, but I have to order it now if I want my HD for April. I am sure that I wont be disapointed either I go with Heritage or RK.
I traded my Heritage last year for a rk classic. After a few hundred miles I thought it was a horrible mistake because the bike didn't "fit" as well as the heritage. After changing the bars, seat and lowering I couldn't be happier with the rk.
I would suggest renting both for a day and get a feel for both.
Alot depend's on personsal preverence, the RoadKing is probally a little smoother but my 04 Heritage is smooth also. I almost traded my Heritage for a 05 RK but after looking a little more at the bikes and what I was going to do with mine I decided to keep what I got. I think you will be happy with either bike,Good luck with your desision.
Last friday, I was at the dealer with my wife and we were determined to buy the RK Classic. Very nice looking bike, we love it. The only thing that we had to decide was .... the color! Believe me, with my wife, it is not easy, it is maybe the most difficult decision.
We decided to take the whole day at the dealer, just to select the color. (Lava Red, Sunglow Blue or Black).... can you imagine this????
In the showroom, there was an Electra Glide Classic. We looked at it, and our fisrt comment was 'We don't like that bike' the fairing, the touring case and there is only old man who buy it!!!! 'YOU KNOW WHAT????? We bought the Electra Glide Classic....
After 3 hours at the dealer, we tried the Electra Glide ... and we loved it. So confortable, and at the end ... we liked the fairing, the touring case ... IT IS SO PRACTICAL AN CONFORTABLE ... and nice. We bought the Lava red one.... I will have it in April ..... long long months.....
Congrats on your new purchase. If you could have test rode the RoadGlide (not roadking), you may have even changed your mind again. I made the mistake of riding one, and the ride with the fixed fairing is the best. Isnt life grand, its like Sheryl Crow put it, "Its not having what you want, its wanting what you have".
