Loss of Speed

Just wondering what may be causing a drop in speed in my scooter. I have an '09 Electra Classic and on occassion my bike will not be able to go over 30 MPH. I have heard bad gas, fuel injector, and clogged fuel filter. Any thoughts?

dpetey27, are there any surrounding circumtances to when you actually lose power?

I'm getting a temporary check engine light indication. Voltage and power is steady. No unusual engine sounds or exhaust noise. It typically goes back to normal after i turn the bike off and let it "reset". most often occurs at higher speeds (55+).

If the check engine lite came on, even for just a few seconds, a code(s) will be stored. That is the place to begin. Read the codes and see what you have.
