Default About my Ultra

A few people asked me about my Ultra with a 108,000 miles on it. February 1st I will have had it 2 years. The things I have had done to it is as follows: Not necessarily in order.

*At 94,000, the Stator went out. Replaced under warranty
*At 75,000, my cam chain tensioners went out. Replaced under warranty
*A week ago, at a measily 107,000 miles, my battery quit. That was not a warranty item.
*About 5 months ago, the volt gauge has been replaced under warranty.
*About 30,000 miles, the inner primary had to be removed to get at a small O-ring seal that was leaking. Replaced under warranty.
*A year ago, my fuel injector wires had to be repaired because the bike ran terrible. The biggest problem was finding out what was causing the bike to run terrible. Fixing the wires was easy.

When I purchased the bike in February of '03, I bought an extended warranty, so I am still under warranty for another 2 years. The way I look at it, I'm in Harleys pocket now

I am new to this website, I also am a 2 year member on vtwinforum.com and I am also a member of harleydavidsonbikers.com. I'm not here to push any of these websites, I did a google search the other day "harley davidson forums" and this is what came up. So I thought, what the hel l , I would join up. Some day, I WILL see 500,000 miles on my Ultra providing the bike doesn't get totaled or it doesn't get stolen. This is my first Harley, if I live to be 100, I will always own it.

Markuda,

We've all heard about vehicles that have an insane number of miles on them, and they are often bought back from the owner by the manufacturer to examine and see what was good and what was bad about the vehicle. Maybe you will luck out...though you said you'll never get rid of it.

Are you sure Harley couldn't persuade you for a new one? I'm thinking that if that bike sees a million miles, it needs to be in a museum somewhere!

You just made me thinkI should have paid the $900 for the extended warranty, though I know I will never get that kind of mileage on my bike...

Maybe someday.

Cheers, brother, I'm going to crack open a Heinekin for you tonight,

Mac
