I been considering the table lift (which their always out of and your willing to camp out on their front door), and it may be over-kill for what I normally need it for. I was wondering if anyone uses this side lift that might be more practical and I can have it shipped to my front door?

Friend had a similar lift and it was...cheap. Lots of slop with all those pivot bolts. Harbor freight isn't exactly known for quality tools.

Obviously you don't want to go broke buying a lift however do you realy want to trust your ride perched procariously on a flimsy lift? Wether you need it to keep the bike upright for cleaning, wheel removal or servicing I'de recommend a Handy. Air or electric. A bit of cash but well worth it. Extremely durable so used is an option also.
The only one I saw break was after 30yrs of use in a dealer.

BTW, If you haven't, contact your local dealer & get your rear brake switch recall done.

I've got one and find it to be very stable. Takes about 40 pumps to raise all the way, since I'm not a shop it works out great and if its all I had in the shop its still alot better than working off the floor or one the the little hydo lifts being sold. I paid just at $ 250 for mine on sale.

I used to think the same bullsh!t. Then I actually went and looked at one of the HF table lifts. I actually talked here (on hdf) to someone (he rides a bagger, me, a wideglide) who had one. I am glad I did. I got one of those coupons and got my table lift for $279...yes a cheap (not quality wise tho) flimsy (NOT) HF table lift and love it. Works fantastic, and is very stable. I just discarded the front wheel clamp and replaced it with a wheel chock (a Bike Pro brand that locks the front wheel in) and have never had one single problem with it. I just saw a coupon in a Thunder magazine I got from a HD dealership and the price was up to $299.

If you decide to get one from HF take a long bed PU and a friend to help unload. It comes in a wood crate box and is a hand full by yourself. Ask me how I know.........

Agreed!

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago.
Love the lift, but it's like 350 awkward pounds trying to unload by yourself.
It's doable, but not fun. I unloaded mine alone, but it took me about a half an hour, and then I didn't feel much like doing anything else the rest of the night.

It fit in the back of my f150 short bed just fine, with the tail gate down. No need to strap it in (unless maybe you have a slick plastic bed liner) it won't go anywhere...

Buy a wheel chock with it.
