Default my bike rules!

The Harley scene IS the greatest, hell, even the forums rock!
I dig my scoot because its old.still fairly potent.and fun to ride (maybe the ol lady will agree)and looks good. What I want to know is why you like the bike you own,how can it possibly be better than mineand what bike would you have if santa just up and gave you whatever bike you want?

What bike do you have? It looks like a shovel with an S&S air filter but the engine looks too clean. It also looks like you'd have to bend pretty far forward to hold on unless you have long arms :-) How much riding have you done on her?

Why: I like the forward controls. When I first sat on one back in the 80's, I immediately dropped the Low Rider I wanted and gave my heart to the Softail. I really like the kicked back ride. It's been in the shop three times since I got her but she's never let me down.

Can it be better than yours? Absolutely. I have it. That automatically makes it better than yours :-)

What would I get if I could get anything? ... ... ... ... I can't think of a thing I'd want Santa to give me. Sorry. I just like my bikes too much. Maybe a 50's era Harley or Indian would be nice to have.

Just traded the old Sporty for a 2005 Black Softail Standard. Have added windshield, passing lights, turn signal relocation kit, light visors, engine guard with highway pegs, footpegs, saddlebags, medium height sissy bar, luggage rack, grips and a chrome handle bar clamp. Truthfully, I believe I am done as I really like the looks of the bike. Not too flashy and not too plain.

If I had all the money in the world, I would not have traded in the Sportster but kept it and chopped it a bit. I loved that old bike and trading it was like loosing a pet.

What I want to know is why you like the bike you own.
For starters is a HD, then there is the fact that my roadking with the alterations Ive done draws both attention and adds comfort. Alot of people would consider a 'bagger' and old mans bike but at 30 Im changing peoples opinion. Not only does it have style, it has function. I can load the bike down to go across country, and when I get there I can take off the windshield, backrest, and luggage to make it look like I trailered it in. I added xm radio to the bike and custom molded speaker mounts to some lower fairings, changed the handlebars to 16" 11/4 agehangers with wires ran inside and stainless braid cables. The seat has been changed to a low profile and the rear fender has been cleaned off of all the oem lights, tag, and grab handle to now have a tag frenched in the fender to give the ultimate flow across the back of the bike. She is one of a kind and still a work in progress, and with 50k miles she has proven herself on more than one occasion.
How can it possibly be better than mine?
Rubber mount is one of the best things HD could have ever done, and after riding one its easy to see.
What bike would you have if santa just up and gave you whatever bike you want? Well, if it were to be another HD, I would love to have a screaming eagle ultra, but Ive wanted to add a Yamaha FJR1300 (sport tourer) to the stable just for a change of pace.

I thought that was the 'cool' thing to do. Ever been to Daytona? Best tee-shirt for that rally,, I rode my bike to trailer week.

What I like about mine, it's almost 27yrs old and runs great and the transision I'm working on now, will be of my own doing. To have a H-D to ride and not a lot of money invested makes it even that more appealing for me.

I owned a bagger at a earlier age, and can appreciate the benefits, but always wanted a old Sportster to play with.

If I had my choice of a bike, I think I'd pick the 1 I'm playing with now. I have a particular look I'm working towards and can't wait till I have pics to share, the before and after.
Matter of fact, I have a new chrome headlight housing waiting to be installed.

That's what I'm sayin' too. Your bike's great...but not as great as mine because it's mine.
