What tools?
My last bike (suzukie c50) came with a tool kit that included tools for pretty much everything on the bike. My new 07 RKC didn't come with any tools. If I wanted a nice little set of tools to keep with me at all times what tools would you suggest. Are the bolts and allen heads on this RK metric or standard? You name the tools and I'll build me a nice little tool bag with them.
Thanks for your help, Ralph

Basic tool set: Set of allen wrenches, set of torx wrenches, multi tip screw driver, pliers, small crescent wrenc or set of open ends, electric tape, piece of electrical wire the lenghth of bike, fuses.
If room available you can always add to your kit any tools that you may have used in prior repairs. I also try to carry a couple bolts with nuts and washers just in case i need to use them to secure something on the bike if needed. I just use a small travel shave kit and wrap it all in a rag and zip it up.

That is more towards the information that I was looking for. I guess I should of asked if my Road King's bolts and allens are standard or metric. If so what are the most commonly used wrenches to keep on hand (the most useful ones).
Thanks for the information MCB.

Before shoosing the corrrect tools, you have to think of two questiosn 1. What is likely to need repairing or adjusting while on the road? 2. What can I fix myself while on the road.
With those in mund, you'll want a set of small wrneches and torx bits to tighten up the small things that might come loose.
Two medium sized crescent wrenches. You'de be amazed what you can do with them.
A flat and phillips screwdriver.
pliers/wire cutters.
A cutting tool.
6' of baling wire. 6-10 zip ties. Some duct tape. 6' of 18 gauge electrical wire.
A flat repair kit. If you have tubed tires, be sure to include spoons.
A roadside assistance card, and a cell phone.
Be sure to get QUALITY tools, like Craftsman, Snap-On, etc.

I agree with the last two postings. I see they have probably built their kits over time. It seems you will add some tools as you experience your own problems or those of others while on the road. It has been many breakdowns over the years that i have used to build my kit. Yes do buy good tools,it will make a difference when it comes time to use them.Hope you get it all set up, let us know.
mcb is right about adding stuff that you learn you might need by not having it. I added the 15/16" wrench after my last trip because I needed it to loosten the rear axel to adjust the belt tension. It was the only wrench I did not have and it was the only one I needed on the whole trip.
