Default bag guards

I bought this bike, the bag guard is scratched pretty bad.
What would you guys do? I called a couple of salavage yards, no luck. I saw a complete set on e-bay for $70 so far. Can this be repaired and recromed?
Thanks for your imput.

It can be rechromed, you will have to compare cost to see what way to go.

You will probably come out cheaper buying a used set from ebay. Chroming is very expensive and time consuming. Just make sure you get the correct set of guards.
