heritage softail seat removal.

Hi Guys hopefully I can get some help. I have a 2006 heritage softail and I cant remove the seats. they are held on by captive thumb screws but when I loosen them the seats are still stuck firmly to the bike

The thumb screw at the back only hold on the passenger seat, You have to pull the leather strap off the front of it then remove the back seat to expose the screws holding on the front seat that actually hold the leather strap the secures the fron of the back seat... Make sense... It will once you get it off.

thanks but I have done all that. even when I loosen the screw on the back of the rear seat the seat does not come loose and when I undo the 2 thumbscrews on the front seat it also is still firmly attached.

Take a flathead screwdriver and "carefully pry" the screw from it's seated position. It will "snap" loose then move to the opposite side and do the same if needed.
