Tearing apart my speedo, the speedometer works fine, the odometer is creeping along at 1/10 actual. I'm at this point in assembly, and I cannot seem to get the odo reset shaft off to remove the mechanism from the bucket. I haven't broken anything yet, and I'd like to keep it up, suggestions?
To remove the reset shaft, you'll need a tiny phillips screwdriver. Try using an eyeglass frame screwdriver.
It should take an "0" size Phillips with a long shaft. It often is seized on the shaft. Maybe spray with some penetrating oil. Using a small hammer, and being certain the phillips is seated, tap on the screwdriver head. This often helps to break it loose.
