Default Console leatherwork.

So ever since I've had my 93 Lowrider convertible I've hated the console. It originally came with a cheap plastic insert that was impossible to clean, looked like crap and aggravated me everytime I looked at it. I tried to find an aftermarket one to no avail. I ended up pulling it off and leaving it just chrome for awhile, but that was just a little too shiny up top for my taste also.

So, I decided to give a go at a little leather crafting. I had an uncle that used to do a little work with harnesses for his Clydesdale horses. Turns out I quite enjoy the hobby and am looking for a few extra things to try. Might even give saddlebags a go in the future, but for now I'll stick to the smaller pieces.

My original plan was to make a sort of pouch in between the top section and bottom, but when I to that stage it just didn't seem to fit so I decided to just make it a sort of cell phone/registration sort of holder I could strap onto the handlebars. As I recently just put on a set of Wild Ones I had a little extra rise to fit compared to the old buckhorns.

Now to figure out how to get the seat recovered to match the console. Full on seat upholstery is still over my leather working pay grade. But what the hell, might give it a go anyway and see what happens.

Woodrow.
