top box repair
top box is cracked by front hinge - usual place where they fail because of overloaded carrier on open lid being unsupported
can normal fibreglass matting / resin be used to effect repair to inside of box

Depends what your box is made of. Older ones are indeed glass-fibre, but newer ones are abs plastic or similar. If yours is g/f I am sure it can be repaired as you suggest, but if abs, there are firms who can weld repair it, common for sport bike owners. I've never heard of them failing and mine is decades old!

have just drilled holes in base of box to fit quick detach brackets it appears to be fibreglass
will attempt fibreglass repair, if its plastic the fibreglass won't adhere and I';; be back to where I started
