LED Tri bar problem
After 14 years of riding I got pulled over for the first time tonight while celebrating the 110th in Milwaukee. Problem is I have a LED Tri-bar on my night train. It works just fine when I start the bike cold or after an hour of sitting. The longer I ride the more the light dims. Eventually it barely seeable and the brake light fails to work. Let the bike sit and it is fine and then goes downhill again. I recently changed the brakes and I thought it was the the brake switch. After reading more about the problem I noticed the LED does have issues when it gets wet. Recently rode through big storm. There does appear to be water in the lens. Need a fix now (cannot pry open and allow to dry). Do I need to replace or am I missing something?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I purchased a 2011 FLHX Streetglide the end of 2012 and had the dealership install my Daymaker LED running lights along with the center light "since they recommend them" and after a short time had passed my running lights had developed condensation on the inside on both lenses? (My Center light is fine) I went back to the dealership to have them correct the issue and seemed ok for a while but came back. Condensation and LED lights can't be good as you stated and makes yours dim after a while. I have not seen that problem occur with my LED's ? I contacted the dealership and they flat told me that Harley will not stand behind their LED lights which makes no sense since everyone including myself have sunk literally thousands of dollars into our bikes and accessories.
The long and the short: Is this normal and should I be concerned ?
