I have an 06 FXDCI and am trying to replace all the bolts and washers on the bike with SS ones. I can't see spending the money HD wants for chrome ones, so I am trying to do it myself. The olny problem I am running into is the washers. The size I need is a 7/16OD with a 1/4ID in SS. Does anyone know where I can find these? Thanks.
You may want to rethink replacing all of the bolts with stainless, especially ones that are going to be threaded into aluminum. Stainless bolts have a tendency to gall. Do an internet search and you will find plenty of info on this topic.
About the washers, try using metrics. Their real close and seem to be smaller outside diameter than standard sizes. I've used them in chrome with no problem. Good luck.
Thanks for the replies, I never thought about stainless and aluminum being an issue. The closest I found with washers is a 1/2OD, hopefully that will work.
Ok, I gave up after spending the morning on the phone as well as the past few nights in my shop machining... I ordered a kit from Drag. Thanks for the help, I am sure I will be on here alot more!
Here in Australia you can buy them at the hardware store. You can use SS bolts in aluminum if you put anti-sieze on the threads.
