Default Bolt sizes for Dyna ?

Does anyone have a listing of the threads and sizes of the various bolts for an 07 Dyna ? I want to replace my fading zinc ones (after six weeks) with chromed or stainless (maybe even blacked ones) before the UK weather rusts them all.

Thanks !
Mat

I think your question is a little vague. There's way too many to list. I think you'd be better off just polishing the existing ones.

Isn't there a listing in the Service Manual? If not, there should be a mention in each applicable area of the bolt sizes that are used.

Hi Mat
I don't have a list of sizes but its fairly easy to get grips with the threads and sizing, even for someone like me who's only ever used metric thread sizes on my bikesfor the last 30 years.

Most of the thread sizes are UNC (coarse) and imperial lengths except for the forks which have some metric sizes

I replaced a load of mine on my SBwith ones bought on-line from www.custom-fastners.co.uk they have a good range of sizes and finishes in UNC/Whitworth and there is some info on working outsizing on the site, the delivery was very quick and everything was top quality.

I hated the cheap looking plated ones on the handlebar clamp since day one so I replaced them with 1 1/4 inch long5/16 UNC Chrome Allen Screws and added Chrome allen head plugs to finish them off and stop rain collecting,I also replaced the two dull stainless button heads on the tank consol with the same bolts and caps with chrome washers.

Formost ofthe others on the frame and bodyworkI used 1/2, 5/16, 3/8 sizes instainless button heads with stainless washerswhich are a bit more understated than chromebut will keep their finish longer, and really there's not that many compared to a Jap or BMW,I did not replace any of the engine bolts as I am a bit wary of stainless bots in alloy casings but if they start to look shabby I will buy a complete engine kit rather than try and size them myself, and use plenty of Coppaslip.

Hope this is of help.

may want to make sure you put a peice of a rubber mat, or carpet etc up under your kick stand when you park it for the night.......i have seen first hand, new bolts etc start corroding due to electralysis of all things......may not be your problem, but something to think about !
