Default Arai Signet-Q US Flag

Just a quick review.
My wife and I stopped by the local independent dealer to look at helmets. Our intention was simply to figure out her size and the style/shape she prefers.

As it turns out they had an XS RX-Q that fit her perfectly and was marked down to $225. Incredible deal. It's High-Viz yellow, but she likes it.

I spent some time telling her how great and especially safe Arai helmets are compared to some of the cheaper brands. So, being a finance person, she started haggling with the guy about an Arai for me. I ended up getting the Signet-Q for $450. In total, we have $675 invested in two new helmets. To get the deal, I had to settle for the US Flag version, but I can deal with it.

After a week and a few hundred miles, I am very impressed with the helmet. The long-oval shape fits my head really well without any undue pressure on my bulbous forehead. It's also lighter and substantially quieter than my fairly new Icon Alliance helmet (I like the Icon except that it's noisy.)

The Signet-Q is very well made. Ventilation is superb. In 50-60 degree weather, I find that I need to close some vents. In 60-80 degree weather, I get a lot of air flowing over my scalp.

The lining is removable and can be hand washed. It also has a 5mm section of the cheek pads that can be removed for a slightly looser fit.

The only things I dislike about this helmet are the three large "Arai" ovals. The two side ovals are right on the stripes of the flag. Kind of an oversight by the designer if you ask me. A Japanese company/family name right on top of the American flag. They clear coated over the decals, so they aren't removable. No worries though. Short term, I applied some "Sons of Liberty" decals right over the Arai ovals on the sides, and a "Don't Tread on Me" oval on the front. Long term, I'll have both helmets color matched to the bike.

Long story short, the new Signet-Q is another great Arai helmet. I've owned a few, mostly race helmets, but their quality is always top-notch.

Very nice, Arai are great helmets. I like the color scheme other than the logos like you mentioned. I recently got a smokin deal myself on a Bell Star carbon and it feels awesome but this long New England winter is killing me not being able to try it on the bike.

Man, there are a few carbon-fiber helmets I like, but all are very expensive. The BMW carbon enduro is badass, but $1200.

Dig my Signet Q as well. I have the Target paint job. You are right about the logos.

Tell me about it. I really wasn't looking for carbon fiber cause of the price. Came across a brand new '13 leftover on ebay with an accessory transition shield and got it for $350. I'm sure even an expensive bell isn't the quality of arai but I like it, It's the nicest helmet I've had, I always used to cheap out on helmets. Not sure if they make them for yours but look into a transition shield, it's badass. No need to carry two shields if weather changes or you're riding day to night.

Love it!! At least the Arai logos don't offend the theme. Good looking helmet.

Sweet deal. Those are great helmets. You're going to love it. I have a buddy with the non-carbon version and he raves about it. I can only imagine how this light version will perform.

I forgot to mention that the Signet-Q come equipped with the Pinlock system. I think they make a transition Pinlock that fits. Shopping now!!
