Thought I would share what was the repair to problem. 1989 Ultra I would push starter button and get click, click, click maybe 4 to 6 times it would start.
I replaced Battery (didn't think I needed to but did). Still same results. Replaced starter relay same results. Bench test starter as per manual check out ok. Put back in same thing. I took a volt meter and check voltage coming into and out of relay 12.6V. Could take a jumper and bypass starter relay it would start right up. Only thing left was voltage coming out of the wire to starter BINGO 7.6v but 12.6 at relay. Replace spade end and solder it to wire.
Cranks over every time now.
Hope this might help someone else trouble shoot starting problem.
