Default whopping noise from my rocker boxs at idle

just replaced all the rocker box gaskets on a 93 evo 1340 motor, its just a stock motor with an s&s e and straight pipes, i can ride the bike all day and when at idle i will not hear the crazy noise, go for a hard run around the block, stop at idle and theres a compressor sound coming from the rocker box area whoop whoop whoop, it goes away when you rev it up and strats back in at idle, its driving me crazy,it never made this sound before the gasket change ???????

I would look at the head gaskets as this sounds like your problem and also "somewhat" common on Evo's of that vintage. When an Evo engines heats up it grows about .017" that might seal up the head gasket as it gets hotter. Do not rev up a cold motor especially an Evo. Warm them up before running anything close to hard.
