As you know, there has been a lot of talk about ticketing for loud pipes in Stillwater. Last night there was a Stillwater cop at the St Paul chapter HOG meeting. He said, and I quote, "You can ride through town with straight pipes if you want. If you are riding like an adult, we will leave you alone." They are after the folks that are revving their engines, intentionally creating excessive noise, etc. He said if you got a ticket (and he said there were very few), it was because you were creating a disturbance.
Anyway, I know a lot of people have been avoiding Stillwater, myself included, because of this whole thing. But the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, so I thought I would pass it on.
Thanks for the update... actually, I've been to Stillwater several times since the ordinance went into effect, and there are a lot of bikes, and like the man said, be cool, and there will be no problems.
I only ventured out there once this year, a few weeks ago. It was a Friday night; the circle in front of Pappy's was 75% cars and there were plenty of places to plant my bike. I think some of the businesses down there are struggling now because of this, which is probably why the police are going on these good will missions to get the bikers back.
Anyway, I had heard from others it was no big deal; but it was good to hear it from the horses mouth.

A group of HD guys meet every Wed in Wyoming, just N of Forest Lake. Actually meet at the trail parking lot just N of Viking Blvd on HWY 61. It is a blast. We will start up again in the spring, as soon as most of the salt is off the road. We may travel as far N as Hickley, or Mora. Sometimes we cruise around Stillwater, or often over in WI. Keep it in mind. There is a dedicated half dozen of us, and about 10 or so others that rotate in. Everyone is welcome. We eat at a different joint every Wed.
It is a blast. keep it in mind, and let me know if you have any questions-
