We have been here since August, haven't had a chance to ride a lot, down towards Tumbling Shoals and out for some day rides, looking forward to the springtime!
You're in a prime location for great riding. I get down that way three or four times a year just "getting out for the day". A little north of you, actually, but close enough. Where'd you move from?

Yes, Yeager's is far from the mega/boutique H-D dealerships. And I like it that way!

My hometown is Vallejo California, great place to grow up, Mare Island Naval Shipyard was right across the Napa River, I had a great career working on the tugs, then passenger ferries on San Francisco Bay,

My wife was born in Independence and grew up in Bolivar, I have family all around the midwest and we had talked about retirement in the area, when the Chinese flu shut down Kommiefornia, we hung around the house until early July, we came out here and spent a week looking around from West Plains up to Brinkton and Lake of the Ozarks,
I have to say we have been blessed this whole last year, the way things fell in to place for us,

First time I have lived somewhere that has 4 seasons, not much riding right now, so I been able to introduce my new Bride to the gun range and firearms,

I'm really looking forward to exploring this great new area,

Our place I mentioned in my original post, off rt 66 is about 10 minutes from Bennet Springs. I live about 200 yards off hwy 64. Several guys I ride with live mid-way between Lebanon and Bennet Springs. Weekends when I am doing nothing else you will find me down at the park with my camper. My grand kids love trout fishing.

Hmm... I admit I don't pay attention to much going on around me, so it's entirely possible they moved Lamar...or the Ozarks... but wasn't Lamar previously North of the Western side of the Ozarks?

I have to ask, now that we got rid of the helmet law did you ever get one of the leather bomber hats that I remember you posting about in the past? That's actually the only "helmet" I've worn since it was repealed. I haven't noticed anyone else wearing one so if you see a long hair with a long gray beard wearing one along 71/ I 49 that would be me.

Now wouldn't that cool! No I halfass looked into it to see if Lamar was part of the Ozarks. I come up with the idea it wasn't, not 100% sure but would love to be wrong.

The leather helmets? Wow that's been a minute! I did buy one and I didn't like the way it looked on me at all. I still have it and like a dork I picked up a second one and didn't like it either. Helmet free is working great now. By the way we like to call it chrome not grey. Maybe I'll catch up with you here this summer. I'm 6 miles west of Lamar. I've been seeing a cool ride over and all around Stockton Lake that sure looks like a dandy ride. Not to mention the other lakes.

e other lakes.

No, Lamar isn't in the Ozarks. I was just commenting on where you said you were East of the Ozarks. Not sure of the Boundaries but I would say it runs a good 100 miles East(and to the South) of you.
I had a good friend lived in Pittsburg, Ks. just West of you, he passed away about 10 years ago, don't get over that way much anymore. I have kids & grandkids around KC so I travel I 49 (always be 71 to me) every now and then.

I think the leather hat thread was before I joined this time, although I didn't post in that one. I changed computers and forgot my old log in creds so started a new account a few years ago. I like my aviator hat although it is different than the ones in that thread, I went back and looked at it. I can't get a doo-rag to stay on and my hair gets almost dreadlocked with nothing covering it.

Chrome, I might use that. I usually correct my wife when she says gray. I tell her it's platinum blonde.

Our closest regular grocery stores (no to the walmart meats) is Pittsburg Ks. 20 minutes or I like going 30 minutes north to Nevada Mo better. Buddy lives in Osceola and the ride from Nevada, well Eldorado Springs to Osceola anyway looks like a dandy ride. Done it in the truck a couple times.

There used to be a decent spot to fish there on 82 where it crosses the Sac. I used to carry a telescopic pole with a micro reel on it in the Summer but haven't fished much the last couple years.

Yeah 82, lovin' that road. Been a minute since I drowned a worm.
