i am flying into springfield and heading to joplin for a job interview. so i may be moving to joplin pretty soon since it sounds like i have the job. hopefully there are fellow hd members in the area i can ride with.

A good group of people there, they have a HOG chapter there and lots of nice folks. It is a nice area with some great roads.

Coming from Gilbert AZ is going to be a change. We have humidity here, in the summer it's 100%. We call it a 'Wet Heat'

No on the 4 x 4, nothing works on ICE !
Average snow fall there is a few inches a year, the rule of thumb is if it snows today it will be gone tomorrow. Winters are what I consider mild. Temps between 30 - 50's with the occasional dip in the teens.
If properly dressed, you can ride all year. I usually put the bike up for a month during the last of Jan - Feb.
