What is the Boozefighters? I might like to join the ride.
The Boozefighters is a motorcycle club formed in Southern California in 1946. They are now nationwide. They were the club that was wrongly accused of taking over the small town of Hollister during a sanctioned AMA event way back then and raping, looting, racing in the streets and bars and intimidating the Police into inaction. The infamous photograph of a drunk guy sitting on his Harley- Davidson tipping a bottle with empties surrounding him on the ground was staged by the media. The guy wasn't even a Boozefighter. That incident inspired the movie, "The Wild Ones", with Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin. It also inspired the AMA to proclaim that 99% of motorcyclists are good guys, hence the term for outlaws as 1%ers. I believe this is fairly accurate, if not, someone please set the record straight.
