A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
Hi there,
I also have a HF trailer with 8" wheels. What kind of speeds did you do on your shakedown ride? I haven't had the chance to take mine out much. Hopefully, in the near future I'll get to use it more often.
I have a Harbor Freight Tag A Long trailer and did the same mods (wheels, leaf springs). I bought the LED trailer lights from Harbor Freight and put them on instead of the ones the trailer comes with. The LED lights blind people behind me at night.
There is a formula for proper trailer tongue length. I don't remember it, but we discussed it at Sturgis. One of the guys I know, has a homemade trailer from wood strips. It is really cool. He used that formula & it trails his HD Road Glide like a dream.
Yes, it's a bit heavier, but not bad & it looks fantastic. His name is Mark & from Minnesota. It is the coolest trailer I've ever seen.
Well, maybe the wood coffin I saw this year, was a tie.

we had it up to 75 loaded and empty on our way to Green Bay to pick up a Harley lamp
First time out, I went empty and then I loaded it up with about 150lbs of logs and cinder blocks to try it out.I do go with trying to put about 20-25lbs on the tongue. went and bought a cheap fish scale and use that to weigh the trailer tongue weight before I hook it up. just seems to pull the best at this weight.
