I'm responding to the original poster. He made it quite clear that he wants tires for HIGHWAY USE.
I don't know if that's what he actually wants or not. I did read and comprehend that he does NOT want what you suggested. If that makes me a know-it-all for reading and comprehending the question asked, then so be it.

i have the open country AT III's on two vehicles and have been impressed with all aspects of them. i know michelin is highly rated (which is why i mentioned them, but never ran them on my truck), but the set on my wifes civic (2nd pair, 1st was warrantied out due to tread life) has not impressed me (and they're removed half the year to put on snow tires
