I had a bumper put on it and the airwing luggage rack with led lights. I am waiting for the mud flaps which have been backordered since 10/08!
My husband rides also, and wanted to make sure I can keep up with him, so while it's in the shop for it's 1000 mile check up he is having a high-flow air cleaner, Python mufflers, SERT, SE push rods and SE 255 cams installed! Maybe he won't be able to keep up with me??!!
Hi - fantastic...

I'm only the passenger and I love it but I'm learning so much from my hubby. Yes, we got the same luggage rack with the led lights...

Last Friday we had our mud flaps put on - we ordered them back in Oct too...

My hubby says it's really hard to keep this bike under 85 (6th gear) so with what you're getting you surely won't have any problems keeping up with your hubby - think he'll have to peddle a little faster...

Just had our 1,000 mile maintenance done last Friday, too... I'm going to post another message regarding tire pressure - would really be interested if you or anyone else here has come across the same incident as we did last week...

We ride through Joplin and all areas of Missouri quite a bit... Would love to meet up with you guys on the road if possible - or anyone else who's posting here...

Hubby said to tell you of our site http://triglide.multiply.com - whenever we travel he's 'posting' gas usage - just to get a feel of it... Also post as to where we are and what we see...

Just a note: We got the only one that came into this dealer - had to take the color they received... So many people wanted it but we had ordered it from them while we were in Spearfish and they (dealers) were in Las Vegas for dealers convention...

We were told by numerous people Harley's production line was only going to put out 2,500 to see how the public liked them... If that's the case, these trikes (ours) will be collector's items...

You are a whole lot more patient than I am or would be. I would want it at the house so I could play, stare at it, play some more. Congratulations.

Would love to meet up with you if you get through the Springfield, MO area sometime! Or maybe our paths will cross elsewhere as well! It will be hard to keep me off my trike once the weather cooperates! It was about 12' here this morning and the only one I know that was riding was one of the Patriot Guard Riders!
I'll check out your website and would be interested in your gas mileage info as I haven't checked mine yet. I don't think it is as much as was advertised by H-D, tho!
I'll watch for your post about tire pressure. I know my husband said something about tire pressure issue as well and I'll ask him about it.

That's the truth! I used to wonder why my hubby was just standing out in the garage looking his bike over with no particular agenda. Now that I have my own, I get it!

Default '09 Tri Glide Tire Pressure

Last Friday we went to our dealers for the 1,000 mile maintenance... The maintenance guy came out and questioned my hubby on the tire pressure... We ride so much it's never an issue with us unless you can 'see' a tire is low or someone behind you says something...

He feels it's up to the dealership he's brought the bike to for whatever has to be done that they will check the pressure per their maintenance procedures...

Normal pressure on Tri-Glide is:

Front tire 36 psi
Each back tire 26 psi

Maintenance guy came back and told hubby all valve caps were missing and tires were over inflated:

Front tire 72 psi
Each back tire 52 psi

The amounts were doubled...

Our home is secured by a 5' gated fence - trike is in a locked garage - trike is never out of our site when we are traveling, except when in for maintenance/upgrades... We have 1,000 miles on this bike and have not stayed overnight on the road as of this date...

Question: How did that happen to the tire pressure...? Was the bike shipped to the dealer with inflated tires and was up to them to adjust to proper pressure...? Or is maintenance tech telling us a story...?

Some shipping info:

We had received our 2007 Softail (special order) at our dealers - we were personally present (we have pictures) the day the bike was delivered by harley - it was packaged/wrapped in a crate the way they ship all their bikes (this was before they made the trike). Maintenance did what they had to for set-up procedures etc... No problems, we rode that bike over 32,000 miles...

2009 Tri Glide Trike - We weren't there the day the trike was delivered but talked with a couple of the guys we knew regarding how the trike was delivered, etc... By the way, the dealership had to make some special arrangements with their equipment/area beforehand to accept this first trike...

Per them, the trike was not shipped in a crate - much of it had to stay intact I guess because of the way it's built (?)... We don't know what the pressure was in the tires...

That's another question: Does anyone know what the tire pressure would be when shipped or how all the air got into our tires...?

As a note - really don't want to put the maintenance folks down BUT...

Bike was ready, brought outside for guy to wash/detail it - while doing the front tire he sees a nail sticking out - was construction type, cement-stud gun... It had not punctured the tube or air area as no air had leaked out... Went back into maintenance shop... I'm a female - the tire is tubless...!!

My hubby's 'wheel and tire hazard parts on extended warranty' covered the cost of the new tire/labor...

Wonderful pictures... That's our Trike - Red Hot Sunglow... See the forks were replaced with chrome ones - really nice...

Interesting to see the front wheel off and the 'guts' of the fairing...

The chrome front end is well worth the effort it realy makes the bike pop. My wife thought we where both sick taking a bike with only 6 miles on it apart. I recieved a good scolding on not to scratch my dads bike. While we had the faring open we installed the garage door opener, oil temp gage and the wiring and mount for his Garmin Zumo. The bike looks truly outstanding.

If you don't do anything to your Triglide except ride it you might want to invest in replacing the shifter linkage that connects the shifters to the transmission. That is one of the 1st things I replace on all my touring bikes because it has a high failure rate. Its not a matter of if it will fail, its a matter of when. This past summer while we where on a trip to SD one of the guys who rides a 06 Ultra had his stock rod come apart 180 miles from the nearest HD dealer. Got lucky and found a gas station attendant that had a friend who kept odds and ends and he had the part needed. The guy replaced the stock one when he got back home.

Msocko3.
May I ask what oil temp gauge did you use? Where did you locate the gauge in the fairing?
You say you replace the shifter linkage, with what, something other than stock?
Thanks
