Hacked, Conversions and Trailering"Harley Sidecar, Conversion Trikes and Motorcycle Pull Behind Trailering Enthusiasts"
A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
I took my tri-Glide in for the 1000 mile service, inoperative trip & miles to empty meter, MAP, Stage 1 and trunk leak. Because I am over 60 miles from the dealership, they offered to deliver it to me.
When the fellow tried backing the bike of the trailer he forgot to release the parking brake,(his 1st. time on a Tri-Glide) after releasing the parking brake the bike would not reverse!
I don’t know if not releasing the brake burnt out the motor or if they disconnected something during the 1000 mile service? I told to keep it on the trailer and bring back when it’s fixed. I’ll find out what the story is on Monday.
Maybe there should be one thread just to list the issues with the TG.
Water leak
Heat
Pinging
Leg burning from the rear pipe placement
Reverse breaker kicking
Rear brakes
Parking brake adjustments
Are there anymore issues floating around?
Even with all the little issues with the TG, I still love mine.
I lost the screw in the center of the parking brake handle on the Interstate, so my parking brake did not work at all. Dealer did replace the entire parking brake assembly under warranty.
Thanks folks for all the speedy replies to my “No Reverse” problem! A.)I hope it’s something as simple as a circuit breaker tripping! B.)I guess I should find out where this breaker is located and learn the best way to get at it just in case I ever do anything as stupid as the Harley PROFESSIONAL did!

You're not bitter at all are you???? It would really be beneficial for you to open up your owners manual to familiarize yourself with the nuances of your TG...
And was this "Professional" a Tech, or a delivery person/Wash tech, that really knows very little about the bikes other than to drop them off at customers houses....
Like you've NEVER done something boneheaded in your day?????? Granted, that individual SHOULD be more proficient with that vehicle, so take it up with the manager at the dealership, maybe it will promote a bit of education to the uninformed, and possible prevent another inconvenience at your expense, or someone elses....
