All Kidding A side Cub Bear and Her Husbands Try Glide. Is a good test bed as they have 13K on there Tri have ridden it in all weather and road conditions. It sits outside in the rain cold and hot sun. They ride two up with luggage. Only problem they have is a leaky trunk.
I have 2 issues. Leaking trunk and heat. I'm not concerned with the heat that radiates off the enging but my oil temp that at times is 300 degrees measured with a fairing mounted oil temp gauge. I am going to do a Stege 1 which should help take care of the heat issue. It will certainly not cure it. The MOCO needs to get their act together and remedy the leaking trunk. I can live with that until they fix it but I will not wait forever.

Holy crap !
Where is your heat sensor located ? Bottom oil pan plug ?
We are using the LED oil filler temp gauge but we also have one in the fairing
where the air temp was. That one measures the oil temp comming out of the
HD premium oil cooler (like what is on the Tri Glide). The hottest I have ever
seen was 245 degrees but since we did PC3, pipes and high flow A/C the temps
have only gotten to 220 degrees. Remember these are on our 07 Ultra & SG.
Have you thought of doing the Fuel Moto setup or are you concerned about
the warranty being voided if you did do it ?
Rob ....

Oldmsocko,
Unfortunately (IMHO) there isnt a single answer solution to the heat problem; it is going to take a combination of several things to cool down the 103! And the DEGREE (pun intended) of the problem will vary from different parts of the country depending upon the ambient OAT.

Rob: The sensor is mounted in the oil pan. I just recently purchased the SE Air Cleaner so I will be having the stage 1 done to it. Once that is done I will see where my oil temp is and go from there. I do have a concern about the warranty.

I'm just doing the download. I plan on putting a fuel management system on at a later date but in will not be the SERT. I was informed if I put anything on other than the HD unit I will void my warranty.
