First try with new camera
Great video and the quality was real good. I kept thinking I'd like to do some video of my rides but did really see where mounting in behind the windshield would work and also wondered about how distorted it would be through the shield. I had thought about mounting something to the engine guard and didn't realize anyone had a mount available. I'd love to see pictures of your system mounted up on your bike.

I kept it folded up (the thing is only about 5 inches long), started first by wrapping the velcro strap around the engine guard, the v-shape was a good match to the top of guard.
After getting the position I wanted, I used zip-ties to secure further. Hand-tight on the adjustment **** was ok to about 60mph. After that, it started loosing its angle-hold.
I do know one thing, seeing that video makes me think I need to move south.
What's your opinion on the one from RAM?
Thanks,
Dave
The velcro just gets it started, then I used zip-ties to secure it further. I had a zip tie to act as a tether around the camera strap down to the guard. You're right, I didn't want my expensive new toy hitting the deck.
My Ram parts haven't arrived yet. Hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow. I will let you know.
As far as living down here, I'm glad I made the move. I lived in the Northeast most of my life (NY, ME, PA). In PA, I lived in Bucks County (outside Philly) for 22 years. There are some awesome roads for motorcycle cruises, twisties, hills, etc. I didn't like the (relative) short summers though. Here in Florida you can literally ride year-round, but Jan & Feb are becoming a little too cool for my comfort any more. Leather jackets, chaps, and gauntlet gloves will get you through our 30 & 40 degree days here in central Florida.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for a new mounting system. Ilive about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and there are some great backroads to ride on in PA when you get up into the country. I only wish we had a little longer riding season.
Thanks,
Dave
I'm hoping to get into doing the videos like that too. Could you tell me more about your camera and how you uploadthe videoto an internet site? Thanks!Hey.....love your bike! Take a lookat my signature pic and tell me if you don't see something we have in common.
Great to see another anniversary bike here on our forum! Absolute best of luck! What's your sequence build number; out of how many?
The jury is still out on my new camera. My MAIN reason to get get it was for taking video on my rides. I am not happy yet with my mounting options, camera modes, etc. It is a work in progress. My video quality is acceptable to me at 40mph and less, but I end up with everything too shakey when traveling faster. I can xfer files from the camera to my PC very easily and very fast. Getting pretty good with Windows Movie Maker, but will upgrade to a 3rd party product one of days soon. WMM is fun to mess with and I have been reading lots of "How To" articles on the web as far as being your own movie director. It is fun shooting with a purpose, but I sure don't see any Oscars coming my way, hee hee.
After you've "produced" you video, it is quite easy to upload to youtube, or to photobucket. Very similar to uploading pics. All the "conversions" pretty much get handled for you. As long as you are not trying to upload LONG videos, everything is pretty painless.
Maybe we should have a Motorcycle Video Production forum area. I would enjoy learning from others, and helping any way I can.
We'll stay in touch!
