i watched it several times and how it seemed to me, was he was goosen that throttle like he was trying to do an ooohh-ahhhhwheel stand for the crowd. instead, the back wheel broke loose, hopped around and ZZZZZZZZZZZZIP.
hey rich, is that tar on your lips or are you just trying to boost the ratings? pinhead!
It's bad enough to do something like that in front of perfect strangers on a road, but to do it in front of a crowd and on TV that took some courage to get patched up and get back on TV and finish the show. Cudos to the guy.
No matter the issue almost all things like that happen when you are trying to show off and are not careful. However, I do not wish droping a bike on anyone it is a VERY bad feeling.
1. While I bet there was a bit of grandstanding going on, it really does look liek he jsut screwed up and grabbed a fist full of throttle.
2. He has some nerves of steel to get back up in front of a crowd like that, walk over to the ambulance, hold out his hands to be bandaged and not be shaking like a leaf. He really was embarassed but man I woulda been vibrating right off the track after that.
3. Hes kinda an asshat. Did he buy the guy a new bike?

I'll second that Sea.
For the record, I'd bet everyone that's commenting on him being a loser for dumping has never dumped a bike before. I should know, I hadn't either until a few weeks ago.
Dumping a bike is a humbling experience, even for the cockiest A55holes out there. It's not fun. It will definitely take you down a notch or two.
