Component identification before getting tuner
I purchased an '04 Deuce a few weeks ago and have been having a cough through the carb that needs addressing.
I'll be replacing some of the seals first but would like to prepare for a tuner.
The exhaust and intake look to have been replaced and I'd like your help identifying them.
If not exact identification then what I'd choose when setting up the tuner.
The exhaust has Screamin Eagle on it where the 2 go into 1 so it may be self evident but is the muffler a 'slip on' from Supertrapp? It has the set of rings to adjust sound and back pressure but no other identifying marks. There's text stamped on the underside of it that says not legal for street use and stuff but no manufacture name or part number.
The intake is a simple round filter with what I think is the stock cover (removed for pic) and open on the back.
I'll be opening the cam chest to check the tensioners so I'll try to identify the cams as well but for now I think they're stock.
Thanks for the help,
davidk

The intake looks like a Screaming Eagle Stage-1 set-up. Screaming Eagle Pro Air Cleaner And Breather Kit for Twin Cam Equipped Models-P/N 20440-99C in the same catalog.
If you're going into the cam chest for tensioners you might as well replace the cams and bearings while you're in there. It'll give you a nice boost in torque and horsepower.
You stated it has a carb 'have been having a cough through the carb' . If it is a carb bike you don't need a tuner, just a jet change.

It's actually an fuel injected. It's been through 7 hands before me so I'm not sure if it's been tuned.
For right now I'm just going to inspect the tensioners. Opening the chest is no big deal so I don't feel it's a 'do everything' kind of job right now. If things are bad in there I'll replace more but I see gong in there to check every oil change, which for me is yearly (usually no more than 2k per year).
Thanks again
Davidk
