1997 Heritage

Hey, I just bought a 1997 Heritage with 540 miles on it and it has been sitting for several years. I changed the fluids and cleaned the gas and replaced the plugs. Also removed the bowl and cleaned. The bike starts with the choke out but if you give it any gas or push the choke it at all it dies. Any ideas?? thanks for your help..

fuel lines? sitting up that long I would think they would all need to be replaced for piece of mind anyways.

I suggest you remove the carb and thoroughly clean it, also replace the idle jet, which is probably blocked. You can get a service kit with most if not all the parts you need. Check one of the on-line parts websites, like this one, for part numbers. You can try to clean jets, or save yourself a lot of messing around and replace them for just a few bucks each!
