Do you suppose with the number of Race Tuners Harley has been selling to the general public and the obvious profit that goes with it that they will eventually come up with a Tech Line for the general public.Or will they continue the"Blind Eye" to the fact that there're being used on the street.
Seems like there is a flat out kick a$$ "Gold Mine" waiting for the firstExpert Tuner whomarkets a how to Video or Book on the SE Race Tuner and the 07 ECM.
If yousee the dyno set-up that some of the dealers have invested in then you'll understand why it's worth $3-400 for the average Joe to have his bike tuned. ( I know it is for me) Plus now they have self-tuningECM's that run about $800. Soon the price on those will come down even further and the SERT will be history unless Delphi makes a self tuning edition. Technology advances will solve the tuning cost issue very soon.
Notcomplaining about the cost of a dyno tune, oreven the value of a good tune.
Mainly hitting on the pointthatalot of the SERTs are going out to the general public.....most of them being sold, nottosaving money, but to theDIYer who hasalways donetheirown work and doesn'tplan on handingthe wrenches overjust because there's no carb on the bike.
In other word while theInternet is full of computer savvy riders....there is a huge market of guys with excellent tuning, and bike building skills, but are intimidated by a computer, probably not gonna see them post here, but its a huge market. Go to any rally or bar and strike up a conversation about cams, carbs, heads ect.and everyonewants to pipe in. Bring up EFI and the conversation goes dead. Most of these guys aren't gonna buy a metric EFI tuning book....but and HD EFI tuning book might grab their attention.
