Bike stalls on cold starts it will fire up run and if I dont keep giving it throttle it will stall after 15-20 seconds. It starts right back up with no issues. I dont have the problem after its hot I can shut it off go back 10-20 min later and it wont stall. Its a 2007 nightrain 113 hq big bore with tmax. Any ideas to look/check?
Just guessing but have you reviewed the IAC ?
Part number 27658-06.
Look to see if it moves the plunger.
Might just be stuck or dirty.
Go to Ronnies Harley Davidson parts diagram to see #9. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....ION%20ASSEMBLY
sounds like its too lean at start up ....look at the warm up map (Air Fuel Ratio Curves)then (AFR vs Engine Temperature)(closed loop only) ....chick on the boxes where they start too declind going to the left .(click the space bar to bring up AFR ) ..click each box down one to two clicks to add fuel during warm up .... adding 1% ...click each one down all the way to the left ...remember if it starts blowing black smoke when warming up ...back off a little ...and to if you hit the throttle during this time ...will cause it to be even richer ...
Here's a picture of the warm up map ,click the lower blue boxes down to increase the AFR at colder (start up) temperature's ....leaving the top boxes where they are (as you say there's not a problem after the bike is hot) ..hope this helps ...just dont get too rich ...but may need even more in really cold temp's ...back off if too much ...will foul plugs ....
the #'s will be negative because it is how much you are decreasing the AFR from the Air/fuel vs TPS map ....hope this helps ...
