Looks like I'll have to start looking for a dead short - headlight fuse blows immediately as I turn on the ignition switch. Suspect a wire under the tank (since I just filled it - LOL).

I had just the opposite problem a couple of weeks ago. If I turned my bars all the way to the left, my headlight went out. Traced it to the headlight power wire in the harness just ahead of the clamp aft of the steering neck. The wire broke clean inside the insulation.

I had the same problem on my '04 FXDI. It turned out to be a bad low beam in the bulb. The hi would work, but low would blow. Try removing the bulb connector and turn on the ignition to see if it still blows the fuse. If it doesn't, then the problem is the bulb. Also, try a 20amp fuse in place of the 15a. If the fuse does blow w/o the bulb, its probably in your wiring. Could also be in the tail section.

I had the same problem.The headlight wiring wasgetting smashed between the triple trees and the neck. I looked at the wires and found they were exposed and touching...instant short. Hope that helps.
