I've got a 2003 Electra glide classic with a weird problem. It will hesitate and sputter when you back off the throttle and go to use it again like when you slow for a stop light or turning into a street. It wont do it every time but it will do everyday. I almost think it is something to do with the idle because it always happens after it was under load but then throttle has been released. It idles perfect and has great response and other than that is a great bike. it has Vance and Hines slip ons but it does it with stock pipes as well. New plugs and a new top end within 5000 mi. I am not familiar with fuel injected bikes so if anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear them. Thanks
When did this issue first show up?
Has this bike been dyno tuned? Is there a tuning device on the bike?
How's fuel mileage? Maybe a head temp sensor gone bad and it's running rich due to the system defaulting to rich when the ECM doesn't see the expected readings.?
IAT sensor will also cause running issues.
More info needed,
Bob
No tuner, not dyno tuned. new plugs no leaks that i can find. gets 36.5 mpg behaves very well except when this happens. i only think its an idle issue because it happens when you back off the throttle and the rpms drop to idle or near idle.
